Last week, Apple launched a new iPod Touch, alongside iPhone 5, with a new, bigger screen and design. It’s been two years since the company updated the iPod Touch’s design. Fortunately, the new design introduces major revamps.
#1: Thinner & Lighter
The fifth-generation iPod touch is now thinner and lighter (compared to its predecessor), measuring just 6.1mm thick and weighing only 88 grams.
#2: 4″ Retina Display
It now sports a 4-inch Retina display, larger than the previous’ 3.5-inch screen size. It has also the same size and aspect ratio as the iPhone 5.
#3: Dual-Core Chip
Sporting a dual-core A5 chip processor used in the iPhone 4S, the new iPod Touch has now up to two times faster processing speed and seven times faster graphics.
#4: Better Camera
The iPod Touch packs a new, improved 6-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and backside illumination, and capable of recording 1080p HD videos. As for the front camera, it can now shoot 720p pictures and videos.
#5: Apple EarPods
Just like the iPhone 5, the iPod Touch also comes with Apple’s all-new EarPods, which are designed with three microphones: one on the front, one on the back, and one on the bottom.

The front and back mics work together to achieve beamforming — a technique that helps iPhone focus on sound from the desired location for clearer audio. New noise-canceling technology reduces background noise.
#6: Hello, Siri
Aside from packing the new iOS 6, this device also now comes with Siri which was only found on the iPhone.

#7: AVAILABILITY IN THE PHILIPPINES
Although the official release date hasn’t been disclosed yet, the Apple Philippines Online Store has put up the iPod Touch 5G for pre-order, starting at Php16,490 for the 32GB model and Php21,990 for the 64GB. Only 32GB and 64GB variants will be available.
You can find the Apple Philippines Online Store here. The items are set to be shipped next month (no exact date revealed, though).
For those of you who are interested about the new iPod Touch’s battery life, it’s promised to last up to 40 hours (almost 2 days) of straight music playback.

it’s really a nice buy!! importing siri is also one of the great new features, but of course she will be limited to wifi connectivity and won’t be available on road except there’s a hotspot or pocket wifi around.
i’ll surely get one!
